Hulk’s Comeback to Glory!

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (Jan. 20th, 2014) ⎯ Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle, who holds the first ever Rhode Island CES MMA middleweight title, looks to make one more push to GLORY!

CES MMA will return to Twin River Casino on Friday, Jan. 24 with another stellar card with some of the region’s top ranked fighters. This event will showcase defending CES MMA featherweight champ Rob Font (8-1, 2 KOs) and former CES MMA middleweight champ Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle (12-9, 9 KOs). Also on this card you will find Andre “The Asian Sensation” Soukhamthath (7-1, 4 Kos) who will be taking on his toughest opponent yet, Kin “Kong” Moy (4-0, 1 KO).

Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle started his professional MMA career in July of 2007 when he faced regionally ranked fighter Dennis “The Menace” Olson. Soon after he went on to face names like Greg “Ribz” Rebello, Harley Beekman, M-1 Global finalist Mike Geurin, and former Strikeforce champ turned UFC star Derek Brunson. Chattelle made his CES MMA debut with a record of 6-6 in February of 2011 when he faced top prospect and season 11 Ultimate Fighter contestant Woody Weatherby (8-4). Chattelle went on to win that fight, as the underdog, through TKO (doctor stoppage). He then went on to win 3 more consecutive fights thereby securing his 4 fight win streak in the year of 2011 and was named the Boston Herald’s 2011 Professional MMA fighter of the year.

In his last fight of 2011 he went on to beat regionally ranked fighter Brett Oteri (12-5, 7 submissions) by guillotine choke to win the first ever CES MMA middleweight title and established himself as a local hero as he gained reputable media coverage as the #1 ranked fighter in New England. He was seen in news stations, national MMA networks, national MMA blogs, billboards, and even made guest appearances at local schools in his community to speak to the youth.

In April of 2012 CES MMA presented Chattelle with the opportunity to defend his title against John “Doomsday” Howard who had been recently cut from the UFC roster at that time. Chattelle accepted but unfortunately lost; arguably being the only local fighter to win a round vs the current UFC fighter John “Doomsday” Howard.

Since then Todd “The Hulk” Chattelle has gone 2-2 with CES MMA. Talking to “The Hulk,” Chattelle has expressed determination as he makes one last run at the recently vacated CES MMA championship. Now ranked as the #3 fighter Chattelle states, “like my fights in the cage, life hasn't always been easy,” as he explained that he has always had to battle through adversity. As a life long resident of Pawtucket, RI who was raised by a single mother, Chattelle explained that he didn't always make the best decisions in life but that he finally feels like he is in a good place. With 22 professional fights under his belt, 34 year old Chattelle knows that this may be his last run for GLORY!
