Mrs. Evans Kidney Surgery Recovery Fund

Mrs. Evans.jpeg

Carolyn Evans is a 64-year-old woman who is very ill. After 28 years of struggling with type-1 diabetes, her doctors have determined that she now needs a kidney transplant. Until a donor kidney is found, Carolyn has been on dialysis over three years and receives treatment three times a week for four hours a day. She is one of the kindest people you’d ever hope to meet and she needs our help. The cost of a transplant can be extremely overwhelming.

Carolyn is a lifelong resident of Central Falls, Rhode Island and graduated from Central Falls Senior High School in 1973. Carolyn has been a stay at home mother her entire life. Her various illnesses have kept her from doing many of the things she loves to do. Carolyn suffers from epileptic seizures (called Grand-Mal seizures) and has since the age of 11. In 2005 her diabetes caused her to have quadruple by-pass heart surgery at Miriam Hospital in Providence. Her Type-1 Diabetes has caused other complications, including neuropathy, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, and cataracts.

To help offset these expenses, a fundraising campaign in Carolyn’s honor has been established to help her family cover cost post surgery.

GREAT NEWS!!!!! Mrs. Evans received inspiring news via official letter from RI hospital on September 9th 2019. This letter notified her that she has made the top 10 kidney list for RI Hospital.  The letter also stated that she could now be eligible for a kidney anytime now. The family is very optimistic that she could be called in at any moment to finally receive the operation she has fought so hard for.

Thank you for your prayers, support and generosity. Keep an eye on this campaign page because we will be planning some fundraising events soon and posting updates regularly. Your donation to this cause will truly not go unnoticed and we are grateful for all of your support towards a women who has always helped so many.
